A lack of reservations on high-demand days like Sunday can lead to wait times, a common frustration for those eager for a hearty meal. It’s worth arriving early to avoid disappointment. Despite these missteps, the popularity suggests many overlook these issues for the sake of the food and ambiance.
The Sunday carvery here is absolutely fantastic — consistently delicious and freshly prepared every time we visit. The portions are generous, the meat is perfectly cooked, and the vegetables are always full of flavour. You can’t book a table on Sundays, so there’s sometimes a short wait, but it’s a clear sign of how popular the place is. It’s always worth it once the food arrives. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a proper, hearty Sunday carvery in a welcoming pub setting.
great carvery £11.95, lovely clean dining area, best of all in my opinion was CHEF JAMES, so friendly, helpful, polite well mannered and was still smiling and laughing, all be it after MUFC just lost in the final!!!! c u all again.. best wishes..
Another great visit for a Carvery. Chef and staff all very friendly. Very reasonably price. Lovely views over Rivington pike.
Arrived had a lovely reception from the staff. Got our drinks and sat at a table order food at the bar. Sat a while longer. Deciding whether to brave the queue. Grabbed a place In the queue only to have someone tell the waiter we'd finished our drinks added take our table. And when confronted with the situation answer was its our table now. No mention of an apology to say our mistake we'll move. Just the same old attitude you recieve from entitled idiots. Thanks but not be returning. And id steer clear unless you feel you belong with these types. Food was good staff great but punters really need to look at themselves attitude adjustments needed.
Fabulous roast dinner! All the staff were very welcoming and helpful especially the chef James. Great atmosphere and great food
